Hollis Brookline Dollars for Scholars usually awards two different types of scholarships, but this year we have also added a third scholarship, the Jim and Jan Squires Community Scholarship.

Our new scholarship is the Jim and Jan Squires Community Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to one or more students graduating from Hollis Brookline High School who have shown an eagerness to volunteer in the greater community and give the greatest gift of all - their time. Award recipients would demonstrate an intellectual curiosity about the world and an interest in giving back to make a mark in their own unique way. Applicants should have high financial need, significant community involvement, and a GPA of 3.0 or above.

The Hollis Brookline Dollars for Scholars scholarship is awarded to exemplary students who will graduate this year from Hollis Brookline High School. The William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors residing in Brookline who have overcome personal, family, or academic challenges. 

Applications are due March 26th, 2024. 

We have completed our 10th year with our online website and online scholarship applications.

  • During the 2022/2023 school year, we awarded seven Dollars for Scholars scholarships and four William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $44,000.
  • During the 2021/2022 school year, we awarded five Dollars for Scholars scholarships and four William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $21,150.
  • During the 2020-2021 school year, we awarded three Dollars for Scholars scholarships and three William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $20,647.
  • During the 2019-2020 school year, we awarded four Dollars for Scholars scholarships and two William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $19,600.
  • During the 2018-2019 school year, we awarded four Dollars for Scholars scholarships and two William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $18,400.
  • During the 2017-2018 school year, we awarded four Dollars for Scholars scholarships and two William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $23,000.
  • During the 2016-2017 school year, we awarded five Dollars for Scholars scholarships and three William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $15,500.
  • During the 2015-2016 school year, we awarded four Dollars for Scholars scholarships and four William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $11,200.
  • During the 2014/2015 school year, we awarded four Dollars for Scholars scholarships and three William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $12,200.
  • During the 2013/2014 school year, we awarded seven Dollars for Scholars scholarships and two William E. and Lorraine W. Dubbens scholarships for a total of $14,200.
